Remedy Entertainment is actively expanding its shared universe, with Control and Alan Wake 2 serving as key pillars. The connection became even more evident through Alan Wake 2’s expansion, The Lake House. According to Sam Lake, Remedy’s creative director, this ambitious narrative endeavor is only in its early stages, and there’s no conclusion in sight for now.

In an interview with IGN, Lake addressed the possibility of a grand Avengers: Endgame-style event to tie the shared universe together. However, he emphasized that such an idea is far from imminent. “I feel like we’re just getting started, so it’s way too early to talk about an ending,” Lake said. “I love weaving these connections, diving deeper, and exploring new ideas. It’s truly exciting.”

While the games share a narrative thread, Remedy prioritizes ensuring each title is enjoyable on its own. “Each game needs to stand on its own as an entertaining experience,” Lake explained. “At the same time, for our longtime fans, we want to include elements that reveal more about the progress of the shared universe.” This approach allows new players to enjoy a single title while giving loyal fans deeper insights into the overarching story.

Looking ahead, Remedy’s lineup includes Control 2, the multiplayer project FBC: Firebreak, and remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 in collaboration with Rockstar Games. With this vision, Remedy aims to continue delivering distinctive and interconnected experiences for years to come.
